Copper in Modern Energy Systems

The challenge: Copper appears in almost every corner of modern life — power infrastructure, renewable energy, electric vehicles, industrial manufacturing, household goods. Showing that breadth without the image collapsing into an unreadable catalog of objects is the real problem.

The approach: I placed a copper element symbol at the center as a visual anchor, with connecting lines radiating out to each application cluster — power grids and industry on one side, renewable energy and electric mobility on another, everyday consumer objects rounding out the composition. The radiating structure does the organizing work: instead of a flat grid of icons, every object reads as orbiting copper's central role.

The result: A single illustration that communicates copper's material significance across energy, industry, and daily life at a glance — suited for institutional communication, presentations, or general audience engagement with materials science.
